James begins rehearsals for Million Dollar Quartet, the new Broadway musical about a momentous Sun Records recording session with Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley. James will be standing by for the role of Sam Phillips which will be played by Hunter Foster. With direction by Eric Schaefer, the show features a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux. James took part in a reading of It's A Bird It's A Plane It's Superman playing the roles of Jor-El, Tank Tanner, and Dr. Sedgewick. Presented by Dallas Theatre Center where a production will take place this summer, the reading starred Matt Cavenaugh, Chris Sieber, Leslie Kritzer, Orfeh and Renee Goldsberry wth direction by Kevin Moriarity with musical direction by Kim Grigsby. The show features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Lee Adams, original book by David Newman and Robert Benton with additional new material by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

This Fall James will be in the Broadway company of of the revival of Ragtime. The show begins previews on October 23rd at the Neil Simon Theatre and opens November 15th. James will be a understudying the role of Father. Directed and Choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, the show will feature a 28-piece orchestra led by musical director James Moore. James took part in a reading of the new musical, Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale playing the role of Deputy Sheriff Ted Hinton. The musical features a libretto by Hunter Foster and a score by Rick Crom. Directed by Mark Woldrop, the cast will also feature Sutton Foster, Will Swenson, Marc Kudisch, Debra Monk and Christopher Sieber. James reprised his role of Brother Bob in a reading of Kathie Lee Gifford, David Friedman, and David Pomerantz’s Saving Aimee. The reading also starred Carolee Carmello, Dee Hoty, Aisha DeHaas, Kevin Kern, and Fred Applegate. James played the role of Brother Bob in the 2005 production at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. This reading was directed by Graciela Daniele and music directed by Paul Raiman.

James is currently in rehearsals for the Lincoln Center Theater’s new musical, Happiness. A new musical about a disparate group of New Yorkers caught on a subway train under unusual circumstances, was commissioned and developed by Lincoln Center Theater. The production will reunite Tony winning director-choreographer Susan Stroman and Tony nominated book writer John Weidman, whose last LCT collaboration was the Tony Award winning Best Musical Contact and will mark the LCT debuts of composer Scott Frankel and lyricist Michael Korie. This holiday season James will be heading to St. Paul’s Ordway Theatre to play Bob Wallace, the Bing Crosby role, in RIrving Berlin’s White Christmas. This Fall James will be heading out on the road to play the role of the latin lover, Aldolpho, in the First National Tour of The Drowsy Chaperone. The tour, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw with musical direction by Phil Reno, will kick off in Toronto, home of the show’s creator Bob Martin who will reprise his role as Man in Chair for that city.
